24th August 1998 - The Spice Girls have asked for privacy after announcing that there may be "two new additions to the Spice family." Posh, Scary, Sporty and Baby said: "Until such a time as we are sure of our news and ready to make a statement we would like to appeal to people to give us privacy during this time." Victoria, 24, is reportedly three months pregnant by her fiance, England footballer David Beckham. Mel B, 23, has refused to comment about her pregnancy by boyfriend Jimmy Gulzar. The statement continued "The US tour has been even better than we had imagined and we want to thank all our fans worldwide for being so supportive. "We want our fans to know they can expect lots more to come from the Spice Girls - we love performing live and have also been recording for our third album while here on the road.

13th September 1998 - The wedding of Spice Girl Mel B and her boyfriend Jimmy Gulzar has taken place amid a media frenzy at the village of Little Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

Guests including Spice Girls Baby, Sporty and Posh, with her fiance David Beckham, had to make their way past armies of photographers and fans. It seems Geri Halliwell was not present for the champagne reception and meal, which included Mel B's favourites jerk chicken and snapper fish.

 The first Spice Baby was born on 19 February to Mel G - a little early. Phoenix Chi weighed 5.5 lbs and both mother and baby left hospital the following day.

The second Spice Baby was born on 4 March to Victoria by caesarian. Brooklyn Joseph weighed 7 lbs and mother and baby left hospital after a week.

Phoenix was named after the city of conception whereas Brooklyn was named after where Victoria was when she found out she was pregnant.

The Girls record "A Special Suit" on Elton John's album "Aida" which will probably be the soundtrack to a cartoon and maybe a stage show.

4 July 1999 - Victoria marries David Beckham at a castle near Dublin. OK! magazine pay them £1 million for exclusive picture rights.

The Girls have just finished compiling a new book called "Forever Spice". It's a bit of a behind-the-scenes special all about the pressures, the ups and downs, and everything involved when the Spice Girls hit the road to go touring. It's published in late November.

The Girls performed 8 live Christmas shows - 4 in Manchester and 4 in Earl's Court, London. The last one was broadcast live on Sky 1. For some pictures of the first show in Manchester which I saw,

Girl Power Day on 1st July marks the anniversary of the release of Wannabe in 1996.

Here's what Melanie C says about it: "Girl Power means different things to different people, but for me, it's just about being strong and confident as a woman. In history, women have taken second place to the boss and the master most of the time, but we're all equal and we're all human, no matter what sex, shape, size, colour or religion we are. Just remember that!

Every day of my life is dedicated to Girl Power. It's just an attitude, but 1 July is a great day to be really conscious of it. I might whistle at some builders and have a couple of pints down the pub to celebrate!"

There are millions of things you can do to celebrate Girl Power Day, from putting on your biggest shoes and going out with your best mates or popping your boyfriend the big question, to simply just accepting yourself for who and what you are.

But what the Spice Girls really, really want you to do on 1st July is tell them if Girl Power has changed your life, and how.

The third album is to be released on 6 November and is called "Forever". The next single - a double "A" side of Let Love Lead the Way/Holler Holler will be released in October.

The single reached number 1, for one week only and the album was beaten to the number one slot by Westlife.
